Southwest PDP Upturns Chairman’s Suspension In Oyo.

The Southwest zonal office of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) yesterday upturned the suspension of the Chairman of the party in Ibadan North East Local Government of Oyo State, Taiwo Iyiola, over alleged anti-party activities.  It said the suspension of Iyiola by the State Working Committee (SWC) was arbitrarily without any preliminary hearing as demanded by the party’s constitution.  PDP spokesman in Oyo State Akeem Olatunji said on the phone that the Zonal Secretary, Daisi Akintan, who signed the letter reinstating the suspended chairman, lacked power to act without the consent of the Zonal Chairman, Dayo Ogunbenro. He said the purported letter was null and void.

Madonna Injured 🤕, Postpones ‘Madame X’ Concert 🎶 in NYC

There are some more Xs on Madonna’s 2019 “Madame X” tour calendar.

The 61-year-old pop icon announced she will postpone Monday night’s Brooklyn Academy of Music residency show in New York City after sustaining a knee injury.

“Unfortunately, Madonna’s ‘Madame X’ concert this evening at BAM Howard Gilman Opera House is postponed,” the statement read. “Madonna is currently dealing with a knee injury and has been advised rest for the next three days to assist in her recovery.”

The “Madame X” tour dates slated for Thursday, Oct. 10, and Saturday, Oct. 12, are expected to proceed as scheduled. No information about rescheduling the Oct. 7 show has been released.

It did not take long for Keith Reed, a deputy health commissioner in Oklahoma, to spot a big logistical problem with the state’s vaccination rollout. Week after week, Oklahoma was allocating thousands of precious doses to a federal program for nursing home patients that was not using them all.
