Southwest PDP Upturns Chairman’s Suspension In Oyo.

Image
The Southwest zonal office of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) yesterday upturned the suspension of the Chairman of the party in Ibadan North East Local Government of Oyo State, Taiwo Iyiola, over alleged anti-party activities.  It said the suspension of Iyiola by the State Working Committee (SWC) was arbitrarily without any preliminary hearing as demanded by the party’s constitution.  PDP spokesman in Oyo State Akeem Olatunji said on the phone that the Zonal Secretary, Daisi Akintan, who signed the letter reinstating the suspended chairman, lacked power to act without the consent of the Zonal Chairman, Dayo Ogunbenro. He said the purported letter was null and void.

Burning Issue: ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฉ Indonesia Fires ๐Ÿ”ฅ Put Palm Oil Under Scrutiny

Image
A brutal Indonesian forest fire season that left Southeast Asia choking in smog has renewed scrutiny of major palm oil and paper companies, with activists accusing them of breaking promises to halt logging. The monster blazes sent a pall of acrid smoke over the region for weeks, closing schools and airports and causing a spike in respiratory ailments. Mostly lit to clear land for agriculture, they were the worst seen in the country since 2015. Leading companies have in recent years pledged not to log any more pristine rainforest, not to use burning to clear land and to cut ties with smaller suppliers who don't abide by their rules -- but critics say such vows now ring hollow. Industry players, however, insist they have gone to great lengths to stop burning and trees being cut down in their operations.

Lebanon ๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐Ÿ‡ง: Protests Over Worsening Economic Crisis

Image
Protesters blocked roads across Lebanon's capital city in demonstrations against deteriorating conditions as the country grapples with an economic and financial crisis that has stoked fears of currency devaluation. The demonstrators gathered shortly before noon in the central Martyrs Square in Beirut on Sunday. Several hundred then marched along a main road near the government headquarters, where riot police were deployed. Many carried the country's flag, chanting "down with capitalism" and "leave!" Others chanted a popular refrain of the 2011 Arab Spring protests across the region: "The people want the fall of the regime". Later in the day, some protesters set tyres ablaze on several major roads, paralysing the city.

6.8-Magnitude Earthquake off ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฑ Chile Coast

A 6.8 magnitude earthquake struck in the Pacific off the coast of Chile on Sunday, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) said. "There is a low likelihood of casualties and damage," the USGS said of the earthquake, which it earlier reported as a magnitude 7.2, and which occurred 41 miles (66 kilometers) west-southwest of Constitucion, Chile. Chile's National Seismological Center (CSN) put the quake at 6.6 magnitude. Despite the tremor's strength, there were no reports of injuries, impacts to basic services or damage to infrastructure, according to Chile's National Emergency Office (ONEMI). There were also no tsunami warnings, advisories, watches or threats in the wake of the earthquake, according to the US Tsunami Warning System.

Saudi ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ฆ Crown Prince Warns of '๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ท Iran Threat' to Global Oil

Image
Saudi Arabia's crown prince has warned that oil prices could rise to "unimaginably high numbers" if the world does not act to deter Iran. Mohammed bin Salman said a war between Saudi Arabia and Iran would ruin the global economy, following an attack on its oil facilities two weeks ago which it blames on Tehran. Speaking to CBS News, he also said he accepted some responsibility for the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi. But he denied personally ordering it. The prince, who is considered the de facto ruler of Saudi Arabia, is suspected of personally targeting Mr Khashoggi, a Saudi journalist critical of the government in Riyadh. Mr Khashoggi was killed in Saudi Arabia's consulate in Turkey on 2 October 2018.

China ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ณ Factory Fire Kills 19 in Eastern Chinese Province of Zheijiang

A factory fire has killed 19 people in east China, local authorities said Monday, in the latest deadly incident to hit the country's industrial sector. The fire broke out on Sunday at a factory in Ninghai county, eastern Zhejiang province, said the local government on its official Twitter-like Weibo account. The incident, which is under investigation, occurred at a facility owned by the Ruiqi Daily Necessities Company. Among eight people rescued from the fire, three were injured and sent to the hospital for medical treatment, said Ninghai authorities. It made for a deadly weekend in China ahead of the communist-led country's 70th-anniversary celebrations on Tuesday. A packed bus collided with a truck in eastern Jiangsu province on Saturday, killing 36 people.

Yemeni ๐Ÿ‡พ๐Ÿ‡ช Rebels Release Photos, Say They Killed, Wounded ๐Ÿค• 500 Saudi ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ฆ Fighters

Image
Yemeni rebels on Sunday said they carried out a major assault on forces of a Saudi Arabian-led coalition near the two nations' border, releasing footage they say shows hundreds of captured troops, including Saudi officers, and destroyed Saudi military vehicles. The rebels also said they killed or wounded 500 coalition soldiers. The Saudi-led coalition has yet to respond to the rebels' claims. If confirmed, the assault would represent one of the most significant victories for the Iranian-aligned rebels, known as Houthis, in the nearly five-year civil war gripping the Middle East's poorest nation. The Houthi-owned Al-Masirah television network on Sunday broadcast footage showing a long, snaking line of what the rebels said were captured troops walking in rugged terrain. Many of the men, who apparently surrendered to the rebels, were dressed in flip flops and the traditional sarong-like clothing worn in Yemen and parts of Saudi Arabia. A handful wore tan camouflage uniforms. A

Riots at ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ท Greek Migrant Camp After Killer ๐Ÿ”ฅ Blaze

Image
At least two migrants died on Sunday in a fire at a Greek island refugee camp, with the blaze triggering rioting by angry residents. Athens News Agency, quoting police sources, reported that a woman and a child had died in the blaze at the overcrowded Moira camp on the island of Lesbos. The body of the woman was taken to the island's general hospital while the body of the child was handed over to authorities by migrants. The fire inside the camp was extinguished by an aeroplane. But police later fired tear gas to control a crowd angered by the time it had taken, according to an AFP correspondent. The death toll, however, was unclear with an Afghan migrant eyewitness saying three people died in the blaze that spread to six or seven containers used to house residents.

Shaky Spurs Edge ๐Ÿ™ Southampton

Image
Harry Kane got the winning goal as Tottenham eased the pressure on Mauricio Pochettino with a 2-1 win over Southampton, despite an awful Hugo Lloris error and Serge Aurier's first-half dismissal. Spurs' underwhelming start to the season took a turn for the worse with Tuesday's EFL Cup elimination by League Two's Colchester United, exacerbating the aura of frustration at the club. But they showed admirable character to see off Saints in tricky circumstances. Tanguy Ndombele's opener was soon forgotten when Serge Aurier's sending off for two bookings was followed by a diabolical Lloris mistake that gifted Danny Ings an equaliser. But Kane converted after a devastating break at the end of the first half and 10-man Spurs managed to hold on in the face of intense pressure after the break, with Lloris making a couple of fine saves to go some way to making up for his earlier calamity.

Jorginho & Willian ⚡ Hands Lampard First PL Home Win ๐Ÿ™

Image
A Jorginho penalty and a deflected strike from Willian earned Chelsea their first home Premier League win under Frank Lampard as they beat Brighton and Hove Albion 2-0 on Saturday. Lampard's men had drawn two and lost one of their opening three matches at Stamford Bridge this term, but they deservedly got off the mark on this occasion. Brighton, now beaten in all nine of their league meetings with Chelsea, survived an onslaught on their goal in the first half but Adam Webster gifted the Blues a spot-kick early in the second half. Jorginho converted from 12 yards after Webster had brought down Mason Mount, who pounced on the defender's heavy first touch in the box, while Willian added a second 14 minutes from time to send Chelsea up to sixth in the table.

Pjanic & CR7 ⭐ Help Juve See Off SPAL

Image
Miralem Pjanic's stunning effort and a late header from Cristiano Ronaldo saw Juventus move top of Serie A with a 2-0 victory over struggling SPAL. Juve dominated throughout Saturday's encounter in Turin, but they found visiting goalkeeper Etrit Berisha in fine form. It took a sublime strike from Pjanic to beat him - the playmaker breaking SPAL's resistance with a wonderful effort in the 45th minute. Having been denied by Berisha once more just after the hour, Ronaldo finally had his goal with 12 minutes remaining, heading home from Paulo Dybala's pinpoint cross to cap off a dominant Juve performance. On his return after missing the victory over Brescia, Ronaldo had Juve's first sight of goal, drawing a smart stop from Berisha. Ronaldo did beat Berisha in the 19th minute, but his deflected effort crept wide of the right-hand upright.

Liverpool Wins 16th Conecutive Match After Henderson Howler

Image
Liverpool maintained their 100 per cent start to the Premier League season as Dean Henderson's howler handed them a hard-fought 1-0 win over Sheffield United at Bramall Lane. The Reds have swept all before them so far this season domestically but looked destined to drop their first points of the campaign against Chris Wilder's spirited side. Blade goalkeeper Henderson gifted them a 16th straight league victory, though, allowing Georginio Wijnaldum's volley to squirm through his grasp with 20 minutes remaining. The result means Jurgen Klopp's table-topping squad move eight points clear of reigning champions Manchester City, who head to Everton later on Saturday.

Ter Stegen Makes Barca History With Assist ๐Ÿ’ฅ

Image
Marc-Andre te Stegen has made history at Barcelona, becoming the club’s first goalkeeper to provide a La Liga assist in the 21st century. The Germany international achieved that feat during a meeting with Getafe on Saturday. He did so in style, with remarkable composure displayed by the 27-year-old. Ter Stegen found himself forced outside of his area four minutes before half-time. Acting a sweeper behind his defence, a man widely regarded as one of the very best in the business in his chosen position showed why he enjoys such a standing. Rather than rush a clearance or look to lay off to a nearby team-mate, Ter Stegen opted to cushion the ball off his chest. He then got his head up and fired a lofted pass down the middle of the field. Luis Suarez was on the move, getting beyond the last man, and calmly lobbed an onrushing keeper at the opposite end of the pitch.

Suarez & Junior Fire ๐Ÿ”ฅ Barca Past Getafe

Image
Luis Suarez set Barcelona on their way to a first away victory of the LaLiga season as they won 2-0 at Getafe on Saturday. Forget the often hare-brained defending from the Catalan giants, Barcelona got what they came for: three points safely accrued ahead of Wednesday's Champions League clash with Inter. For coach Ernesto Valverde, the pressure eases just a little, and the fact they notched this victory without Lionel Messi and Ousmane Dembele, both sidelined with thigh injuries, is another source of encouragement. Suarez lobbed in the 41st-minute opener, and Junior Firpo tucked in Barcelona's second from close range early in the second half for his first goal for the club. Getafe spurned first-half chances they might have gobbled up on another day and Clement Lenglet's 84th-minute dismissal for two yellow cards came too late to give them any real advantage.

‘Ghana Moving Away From ๐Ÿ‘‰Export of Raw Materials’ -๐Ÿ”Š Bawumia

The Government of Ghana has a vision of moving away from the export of raw materials to manufacturing, Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has said. To that end, he said, the government has initiated measures to ensure that more manufacturing companies are set up in the country to process the raw materials locally. He said this when he toured the Brompton Portfolio’s toilet paper manufacturing factory located at the Nsawam Prisons in the Eastern Region on Thursday, 26th September 2019. He further stated that Ghana can now boast of fourteen (14) indigenous toilet roll manufacturing companies operating in the country. The Head of the Government’s Economic Management team explained that when the Akufo-Addo administration came into office, there were nine of the companies already existing, but under the One District One Factory Programme, five new additions have been made. Addressing the media, Vice President Bawumia indicated that the One District One Factory (1D1F) initiative was launched

The special UN rapporteur, Mr Clement Voule was on a 10 day trip to Zimbabwe and compiled a report he will present to the UN in June 2020. Speaking to VOA, Mr Voule said: The toxic environment, I raised this many times in my meetings with government officials,” Voule told VOA, adding that there was a “general fear” and “lack of trust” regarding freedom of peaceful assembly In many of my discussions with victims of use of excessive force by police, those victims related that they were targeted because they belonged to the opposition I understand the political situation which Zimbabwe is going through,” he said. “Yes, political competition is important, but the well-being of our community [is] more important. Nigeria Will Boil - Niger Delta Youths Warn ๐Ÿ”Š Buhari Govt Over 'Plan' To Stop Amnesty

Image
Ijaw Youth Council, IYC, has raised alarm over alleged plot by the Buhari government to stop the Niger Delta Amnesty Programme. IYC president, Pereotubo Oweilaemi, in a statement sent to DAILY POST on Saturday, warned that Nigeria would boil if the programme is scrapped. He noted that those behind the alleged plan were power players within the corridor of power at the presidency. "The move, if materialised by the enemies of peace, will be viewed as ethnophobic propensity of the present Government against the Niger Delta people", it said. "In case the plotters of the evil coup fail to know, the Amnesty Programme is a mutual agreement between the Federal Government of Nigeria and the Niger Delta people. The bargain is for the agitators to lay down their arms to accept the offer of Presidential Amnesty which has hitherto outlined terms and conditions to be complied with by both sides.

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu has called on Nigerians to shun violence and continue to live in peace and harmony in order to build a better Nigeria. The Governor made this call today at a Special Jumat Service organized to commemorate the 59th Independence Day Celebrations at the Lagos State Secretariat Community Central Mosque, Alausa, Ikeja. Sanwo-Olu who was represented at the event by his deputy, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat stressed that the nation cannot develop if there is violence, killing and fighting amongst its citizens. Three Senegalese soldiers have been killed and another wounded after their helicopter crashed in the Central African Republic (CAR). The combat helicopter was returning from an operational mission with the United Nations peacekeeping force on Friday when it crashed in the western town of Bouar on Friday, according to the Senegalese armed forces. Another soldier was "in critical condition", the UN said in a statement. The chopper went down during "an emergency landing due to bad weather", it said, adding that the four crew members on board were part of the Senegalese peacekeeping contingent. Mankeur Ndiaye, head of MINUSCA, expressed his condolences on Twitter, saying: "It is with immense sorrow that I have learned of the crash of a Senegalese combat helicopter as it was landing at Bouar, leading to three deaths and one injured." One of the UN's biggest peacekeeping missions, MINUSCA has nearly 13,000 troops and police in CAR in support of the elected p

Dozens of people have been killed and thousands moved to relief camps after torrential rains caused flooding in northern India's Uttar Pradesh state, according to officials. Densely populated regions on the banks of two main rivers in the state, which are overflowing because of incessant rainfall in the last 24-48 hours, are among the worst hit. "We had confirmed 44 deaths till late yesterday night. Catalonia Tense Ahead of Verdict in Separatist Trial

Image
Tensions are mounting in Catalonia where pro-independence lawmakers have been sabre-rattling against Madrid as Spain's top court prepares to rule on the fate of 12 separatist leaders over a failed 2017 independence bid. Setting aside their divisions, Catalonia's pro-independence parties on Thursday adopted a clutch of motions granting legitimacy to "civil disobedience", demanding the withdrawal of Spain's national police from the wealthy northeastern region, and calling for an amnesty for the leaders soon to be judged by the Supreme Court. The move came on the same day that seven Catalan separatists suspected of preparing violent attacks were charged with belonging to a "terrorist organisation". Although the declarations by the Catalan parliament are purely symbolic, given it does not have the authority to make such decisions, the central government in Madrid hit back on Friday, saying it would take legal action. "This government is not willing to a

Afghan ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ซVoters Head to ๐Ÿ—ณ Polls Amid Deadly Violence

Image
Afghans voted in presidential elections amid tight security Saturday, even as insurgents attacked polling centres in a series of blasts across the country that left at least one person dead. The first-round vote marks the culmination of a bloody election campaign that is seen as a close race between President Ashraf Ghani and his bitter rival Abdullah Abdullah, the country's chief executive. Wary authorities placed an uneasy Kabul under partial lockdown, flooding streets with troops and banning trucks from entering the city in an effort to stop would-be suicide bombers targeting residents as they cast their votes. By midday, the toll appeared relatively light compared to previous elections, though Afghan national authorities provided little, if any, information about reported blasts. One person was killed and two others wounded in an explosion near a polling centre in Jalalabad in the eastern province of Nangarhar, provincial governor's spokesman Attaullah Khogyani said. And at

Fire ๐Ÿ”ฅ on Oil Tankers at ๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ท South Korean Port Injures Ten

Image
A fire that spread across two oil tankers in a South Korean port injured 10 people on Saturday, coastguard and fire officials said, adding the blaze had largely been put out. An explosion occurred on the Stolt Groenland, a 25,000-tonne, Cayman Island-flagged oil tanker, at the southern port of Ulsan at around 10:50 a.m. (0150 GMT), a coastguard official said. There were 25 sailors aboard, including Russians and Filipinos. The fire spread to another oil tanker docked nearby, the 9,000-tonne, South Korean-flagged Bow Dalian, with 21 aboard, he said. All of the sailors on both ships were rescued, but 10 people, most of whom were workers at the terminal, have been wounded so far, a fire official told Reuters. Nine of them were South Korean, including one in a critical condition, and the other was from India. “The fire has largely been put out but we are checking inside the vessels if there are any flames left or smoke coming out,” the first official said. Any impact on the terminal’s outpu

Tyler Perry Won't "Up and Leave" Filming in Georgia Amid Abortion Law Controversy

Image
Tyler Perry said he cannot "just up and leave" filming in Georgia despite Hollywood's backlash against the state's "heartbeat" abortion law. The actor-director-writer made the remarks to The Associated Press on Friday while discussing the upcoming opening of his massive Atlanta-based studio. Some celebs have urged TV and film companies to abandon the state after Republican Gov. Brian Kemp signed the restrictive abortion bill in May. But Perry, whose hits include the Madea franchise and Why Did I Get Married films, said he is committed to staying put. "Atlanta has been the dream. It has been the promised land," he said. "So when I got here, this whole state and city has been amazing to me and I wouldn't trade that for anything. Also, I put $250 million in the ground here and in the studio. So when you have a quarter of a billion dollars sat down in the ground, you can't just up and leave."

"Ashton knew it was coming and he did have a heads up. But of course he would prefer not be brought into this."

Zimbabwe 133/5 (Burl 41*, Mutumbami 40*, Lamichhane3-15) beat Nepal 132/6 (Airee 40, Williams 2-19) by 5 wickets Zimbabwe have had very little to cheer about in the past few months. They became the first Full Member to be suspended by the ICC and are now set to miss next year's T20 World Cup. The retirements of Hamilton Masakadza and Solomon Mire have added to the chaos, as did a pre-mature exit from the tri-series in Bangladesh last week. Allrounder Ryan Burl and wicketkeeper-batsman Richmond Mutumbami, however, perked them up in a fairly comfortable win in the T20I tri-series opener against Nepal in Singapore. Nepal's legspin-bowling sensation Sandeep Lamichhane extended his rich form and troubled Zimbabwe's top order with his variations. After taking the new ball in a defence of 132 on a turning track, the teenager bagged three wickets in his first two overs and had figures of 2-0-12-3 at that stage - with only two runs coming off the bat. After, Lamichhane's openi

British champion Daniel Dubois stopped Ghana's Ebenezer Tetteh inside the first round at the Royal Albert Hall to win the Commonwealth heavyweight title. Dubois extended his professional record to 13-0 with a swift and dominant display, twice flooring his opponent before the referee waved off the fight. The 22-year-old, hailed as the UK's next heavyweight star, has now won seven titles in his fledgling career. "I think with every fight I am improving," said Dubois. "I did what I had to do, I worked the jab and everything I worked on in training I put into practice. "I am relaxed in the ring and the more relaxed you are the more power you can generate as a fighter."

Kyrgios On His ‘Detention’: ‘I’m Just On Probation, Relax’ ๐Ÿ˜

Image
Nick Kyrgios has promised to be on his “best behaviour” over the next six months after receiving “detention” from the ATP for “aggravated behaviour”. The controversial Australian was handed a suspended 16-week ban and an additional fine of $25,000 following several misdemeanours. Kyrgios was initially fined $113,000 for unsportsmanlike conduct, ball abuse, leaving the court without permission and an audible obscenity following his exit from the Cincinnati Masters in August. However, the 24-year-old didn’t take the punishment lying down as he accused the ATP Tour of being “pretty corrupt” only to later retract the comment. After investigating the matter, the ATP decided to hand him a six-month suspended sentence. Kyrgios has five days to appeal, but he commented about the issue on Instagram. “Guess I’m on my best behaviour for 6 months,” he wrote and added the hashtag #detention. In another post shared on his Instagram Story, he wrote: “Everyone, I can still play, I’m just on probatio

[Watch Video]: Dabo Sportsmanship Gesture ๐Ÿ‘ Steals the Show

Unheralded 5,000 metre runners Braima Suncar Dabo and shattered rival Jonathan Busby drew the biggest cheer of the World Championships on Friday after a dramatic finish to their race marked by a gesture of sportsmanship. Both Dabo and Busby had already been lapped and were competing only for pride when their final lap drama unfolded at Doha’s Khalifa Stadium. Aruba’s Busby, 33, had slowed to almost a crawl down the back straight on the last lap, lurching forward uncertainly and appearing close to collapse. It was then that Guinea Bissau’s Dabo came to Busby’s rescue, stopping to prop up his fellow racer and leading him around the final 200 metres to the finish line. With the crowd roaring them on, Busby collapsed after crossing the line and was eventually taken away in a wheelchair.

Ellen Pompeo Has an Ideal Ending for Grey's Anatomy

Image
Will season 17 of Grey's Anatomy be its last? Ellen Pompeo isn't saying. When asked by Late Late Show host James Corden how she would wrap up the show next year should it be its last, Pompeo said, "Well, I can't really say what I think, because if we really do what I want to do, that would give it away," Pompeo said. "So, I've got to make up a lie, James! You're forcing me to lie right now." But Pompeo admitted she'd love to have some of the original cast make their way back to Grey Sloan Memorial. "But that probably won't happen. That would be the most amazing day," Pompeo said. So, why won't it happen? "Some of them were killed on the show."

Snoop's oldest child, his 25-year-old son, Corde Broadus says his son, Kai Love, was born on September 15, but died on Sept. 25. Corde posted a video of his daughter kissing Kai as someone else was cradling the baby. Kai was still in the hospital apparently in the neonatal intensive care unit when he passed away. FIFA Disappointed by Misleading Reports Over The Best Award Voting

Image
FIFA has hit out at "unfair and misleading" reports about votes not being counted towards its The Best awards. Nominations for Mohamed Salah from Egypt's captain and coach were not included , while Nicaragua captain Juan Barrera claimed on Twitter he did not vote although his name is listed on FIFA's official documentation. FIFA said this week in a statement released to Omnisport that Egypt's votes were not counted as they seemed "not valid" due to signatures in capital letters and world football's governing body has again moved to clarify the issue. "FIFA has been disappointed to see a number of reports in the media questioning the integrity of the voting process for The Best FIFA Football Awards," said a statement on Friday. "These reports are unfair and misleading. "The voting procedure for each of the awards is supervised and monitored by an independent observer, in this case PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Switzerland. Klopp Confirms ✅ New Contract Talks with Milner

Image
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that the club are in talks with James Milner over a new contract. Milner, 33, joined the Reds from Manchester City in 2015 and has become an integral part of the team both on the pitch and off. Last season the veteran made 45 appearances for Liverpool across all competitions, helping the club to the Champions League title and a second-place Premier League finish, one point behind Manchester City. With Milner's current deal set to expire at the end of the season, he is free to sign a pre-contract with a new club in January. Klopp, however, is optimistic that Milner will extend his stay at Anfield. “Nobody is nervous, we are in talks constantly,” Klopp said. “It is really early and we have time to do things with all the players, the relationship is very trustful. We don't hide information from them, they know always about the situation. "He just loves what he is doing. He has gone through it all. He did it the hard way with all hi

Tuchel Counting on Neymar and Mbappe Relationship

Image
PSG manager Thomas Tuchel is hoping Kylian Mbappe and Neymar can forge a deadly partnership this season as the club looks to get its campaign back on track. Speaking at a news conference on Friday, Tuchel confirmed both Mbappe and loanee Mauro Icardi are available again after recent injuries. The PSG boss is all too aware that if Mbappe and Neymar can combine consistently, the reigning Ligue 1 champions will take some stopping. "The relationship between the two is the key for us, they can bring us a lot of possibilities," Tuchel said. "Mbappe has been hurt for weeks, we have to be patient, and tomorrow it's impossible for Kylian to play 90 minutes. "We have to adapt to the situation and the opponent. Tomorrow, we will be able to play Mbappe and Icardi."   Wednesday's 2-0 loss to Reims was PSG's first home defeat in Ligue 1 since May 2018 - before Tuchel took charge.

Barca Injury Woes Continue as Ansu Fati Ruled Out ๐Ÿ™†

Image
Barcelona have announced that teenage attacker Ansu Fati will miss Saturday's trip to Getafe with a tendon problem in his right knee. Fati's injury means he will be added to a growing list of key Blaugrana players to miss out on the La Liga encounter, including Lionel Messi. After Friday's training session Barcelona released a statement confirming Fati's injury and indicating the length of time he will miss is currently unknown. "After the session it was announced that Ansu Fati will miss the game on Saturday at Getafe with a tendon problem in his right knee," the statement read. "His recovery will dictate his return to action." With Messi missing for the season's opening month, Fati surprisingly helped fill some of the void by contributing two goals and an assist in five La Liga matches. But the 16-year-old has now been forced to the sidelines as Barcelona look to improve on a stuttering start to the 2019-20 campaign without several key players.

Guardiola ๐Ÿ‘” Admits Man City 'Won't Buy in January' ❌

Image
Pep Guardiola has admitted that Manchester City "won't be able to buy in January" after injuries and departures have decimated his defensive options. It began in the summer when long-standing captain Vincent Kompany left for Anderlecht before injuries in quick succession to Aymeric Laporte and John Stones saw Guardiola's centre-back choices significantly reduced. But Guardiola - who has been playing defensive midfielder Fernandinho at the back alongside Nicolas Otamendi - insists that he will not be bringing in back-up when the transfer window reopens in a few months time. When asked by Soccer Saturday, he said: "That is not my business but in January, we are not going to buy because we don't have money to pay a huge amount in the summer so we cannot do it in winter. "We are going to stick to the players we have, with [Taylor] Harwood-Bellis and Eric [Garcia] and with the new players in the academy. We have young, talented players and we can count on the

Lampard Shocked ๐Ÿ˜ฑ at Leeds Winning FIFA Fair Play Award

Image
Frank Lampard admitted he was shocked to see Marcelo Bielsa and Leeds win the FIFA Fair Play Award in the wake of the 'Spygate' scandal. Argentine Bielsa and his club were recognised at the governing body's annual award ceremony in Milan for allowing Aston Villa to score an uncontested goal. However, Leeds were earlier this year fined £200,000 and given a severe reprimand by the English Football League after manager Bielsa sent a member of his staff to spy on a Derby training session. Chelsea boss Lampard, who was Rams manager at the time of the west Yorkshire side's undercover operation in January, branded the fair play accolade "strange". Asked if he choked on his breakfast cereal when he heard the news, Lampard replied: "I did smile. Do we know who votes for these things? "What happened with Spygate was very well documented, and then they got fined, the rules changed slightly because of it, I felt it was improper. "To get a fair play award of

Hundreds ๐Ÿ‘ฅ of Thousands Join ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ Canada Climate Strikes

Image
Hundreds of thousands of people have joined climate strike marches across Canada, with almost 100 events planned in cities and towns. Protesters are taking part in the global climate strike movement, which has seen people around the world take to the streets. The movement wants world leaders to adopt an ambitious climate change policy. Initial school strikes were inspired by Swedish campaigner Greta Thunberg's "Fridays for Future" movement. The 16-year-old - who on Monday chastised world leaders at the United Nations over their failure to do more - spoke in Montreal at the start of strikes in the city, which are expected to draw more than 300,000 people. "It is very moving to see everyone, everyone who is so passionate to march and strike," she told reporters. "It is a very good day, I would say."

Thousands๐Ÿ‘ฅ Scramble to Flee Unrest in ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฉ Indonesia's Papua

Image
Thousands of scared residents in Indonesia's Papua scrambled to board military planes Friday, fleeing urban unrest after one of the region's deadliest eruptions of violence in years. Anger over racism against indigenous Papuans by residents from other parts of Indonesia has fuelled weeks of angry protests in the impoverished region, as well as fresh calls for self-rule. Violence broke out again this week in Wamena city where over two dozen people were killed. Authorities said that some were burned alive when buildings were set on fire, while others were stabbed during the chaos. Some 700 Wamena residents -- mostly migrants from other parts of the country -- were evacuated on Friday to other parts of the country, the military said. A further 1,500 residents gathered at a local airport Friday in a bid to leave, according to local air force official Arief Sudjatmiko, who added that at least 2,500 people had registered to get aboard flights.
