Southwest PDP Upturns Chairman’s Suspension In Oyo.

The Southwest zonal office of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) yesterday upturned the suspension of the Chairman of the party in Ibadan North East Local Government of Oyo State, Taiwo Iyiola, over alleged anti-party activities.  It said the suspension of Iyiola by the State Working Committee (SWC) was arbitrarily without any preliminary hearing as demanded by the party’s constitution.  PDP spokesman in Oyo State Akeem Olatunji said on the phone that the Zonal Secretary, Daisi Akintan, who signed the letter reinstating the suspended chairman, lacked power to act without the consent of the Zonal Chairman, Dayo Ogunbenro. He said the purported letter was null and void.

DreamWorks Animation, Universal 📽 Set 'Spirit Riding Free,' 'The Bad Guys' Feature Films

Frontier adventures and bad guys trying to be good will come to the big screen in two new Universal and DreamWorks Animation pics scheduled for 2021.

An as-yet untitled feature, based on DreamWorks Animation's Netflix series "Spirit Riding Free", will follow an epic adventure of a little girl in a small frontier town who forms an unbreakable bond with a wild mustang named Spirit. The two embark on a rescue mission when Spirit's herd is captured. The Netflix effort was inspired by the 2002 animated feature "Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron", voiced by Matt Damon.

The film will is scheduled for a May 14, 2021, release. No voice cast has been announced.

The second pic, "The Bad Guys", follows the tale of five notorious criminals — Mr. Wolf, Mr. Snake, Mr. Piranha, Mr. Shark and Ms. Tarantula — attempting to turn a new leaf after a lifetime of pulling off legendary heists. The animated comedy, based on the best-selling series of books of the same name, is set for release Sept. 17, 2021.

DreamWorks and Universal have, meanwhile, pushed back the release of the previously announced "Spooky Jack", that was initially slated for September 2021. It is now undated.

It did not take long for Keith Reed, a deputy health commissioner in Oklahoma, to spot a big logistical problem with the state’s vaccination rollout. Week after week, Oklahoma was allocating thousands of precious doses to a federal program for nursing home patients that was not using them all. In fact, tens of thousands of doses were sitting untouched in freezers. So his department called an audible. It decided to stop allocating any more of Oklahoma’s vaccine supply to the federal program, a partnership with private pharmacies like CVS and Walgreens that is meant to immunize residents of long-term care facilities. Instead, they would go to distribution channels that would get them into people’s arms faster.
