Southwest PDP Upturns Chairman’s Suspension In Oyo.

The Southwest zonal office of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) yesterday upturned the suspension of the Chairman of the party in Ibadan North East Local Government of Oyo State, Taiwo Iyiola, over alleged anti-party activities.  It said the suspension of Iyiola by the State Working Committee (SWC) was arbitrarily without any preliminary hearing as demanded by the party’s constitution.  PDP spokesman in Oyo State Akeem Olatunji said on the phone that the Zonal Secretary, Daisi Akintan, who signed the letter reinstating the suspended chairman, lacked power to act without the consent of the Zonal Chairman, Dayo Ogunbenro. He said the purported letter was null and void.

Kate Middleton and Prince William step off a plane while arriving at Kur Khan airbase ahead of their royal tour of Pakistan on Monday in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. The five-day visit will focus on boosting ties and addressing challenges such as climate change.

While Will and Kate's schedule for their royal tours is usually known in advance, Kensington Palace will be releasing their itinerary day-by-day due to security reasons.

The trip has been described by Kensington Palace as the most complex the couple have undertaken due to security and logistical issues. It is the first by members of the British royal family in more than a decade.

The royal couple were met by Pakistan foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and his wife while arriving at the airport.

Kate was wearing an outfit by Catherine Walker with Rupert Sanderson shoes. The Duchess of Cambridge wore a long pale blue variation of the shalwar kameez, a dress or tunic worn over trousers, Pakistan’s traditional national outfit that many on social media and in the fashion industry had hoped she would don during her visit. She's believed to be wearing earrings by Pakistani brand Zeen. Prince William wore a navy suit with a blue tie.

About 300,000 people are expected to leave Hong Kong for Britain using a new visa route which opens on Sunday. Hong Kong's British National (Overseas) passport holders and their immediate dependants will be able to apply for the visa using a smartphone app. Boris Johnson said the move honoured the UK's "profound ties of history and friendship" with the ex-British colony.
