Southwest PDP Upturns Chairman’s Suspension In Oyo.

The Southwest zonal office of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) yesterday upturned the suspension of the Chairman of the party in Ibadan North East Local Government of Oyo State, Taiwo Iyiola, over alleged anti-party activities.  It said the suspension of Iyiola by the State Working Committee (SWC) was arbitrarily without any preliminary hearing as demanded by the party’s constitution.  PDP spokesman in Oyo State Akeem Olatunji said on the phone that the Zonal Secretary, Daisi Akintan, who signed the letter reinstating the suspended chairman, lacked power to act without the consent of the Zonal Chairman, Dayo Ogunbenro. He said the purported letter was null and void.

French 🇫🇷 Film Director Luc Besson 🎥 Denies Rape Allegation

Luc Besson, one of France's best-known film directors, has denied raping or drugging a young actress.

Dutch-Belgian actress Sand Van Roy accused Besson of repeatedly raping her over a two-year period.

Also, eight other women have spoken to the French investigative news website Mediapart and accused the director of sexual misconduct.

An investigating judge reopened the case last week, eight months after prosecutors dropped it, following a new complaint by Van Roy.

Besson dismissed her as a "fantasist", although he admitted having had a relationship with her.

Speaking publicly about the claim for the first time on Tuesday, he told BMFTV that it was a "complete and utter lie". He added: "I have never raped a woman in my life."

About 300,000 people are expected to leave Hong Kong for Britain using a new visa route which opens on Sunday. Hong Kong's British National (Overseas) passport holders and their immediate dependants will be able to apply for the visa using a smartphone app. Boris Johnson said the move honoured the UK's "profound ties of history and friendship" with the ex-British colony.
