Southwest PDP Upturns Chairman’s Suspension In Oyo.

The Southwest zonal office of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) yesterday upturned the suspension of the Chairman of the party in Ibadan North East Local Government of Oyo State, Taiwo Iyiola, over alleged anti-party activities.  It said the suspension of Iyiola by the State Working Committee (SWC) was arbitrarily without any preliminary hearing as demanded by the party’s constitution.  PDP spokesman in Oyo State Akeem Olatunji said on the phone that the Zonal Secretary, Daisi Akintan, who signed the letter reinstating the suspended chairman, lacked power to act without the consent of the Zonal Chairman, Dayo Ogunbenro. He said the purported letter was null and void.

Accra Sports 🏟 Stadium to Host 👉 Ghana/Gabon Reverse Fixture

The Accra Sports Stadium will host the reverse fixture involving Ghana’s Black Queens and the Panthers of Gabon in the 2020 Olympic qualifiers on Tuesday, September 3.

The crunch encounter initially fixed for the Cape Coast Sports Stadium has been moved to the capital.

The Women’s Senior National team, posted a convincing 3-0 win over Gabon in the first in Libreville and are poised to continue the fine form in the return leg.

Goals from Elizabeth Owusuaa, Portia Boakye and Priscilla Okyere were enough to secure Ghana her first win in the qualifiers played on Wednesday.

The winner of the two-leg tie would advance to the next stage of the qualifiers.

Out of 16 African teams, Ghana would be chasing the single slot to represent the continent for the Summer Games to be hosted in Tokyo, Japan.

Bishop Wale Oke, the National Deputy President, Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), says churches in Nigeria are deviating from the cause of soul winning. Oke made the observation on Tuesday in Ibadan while hosting the leadership of Foursquare Gospel Church, Lagos. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Oke is also the Presiding Bishop of Sword of the Spirit Ministries, Ibadan. The delegation of Foursquare church led by the outgoing General Overseer, Rev. Felix Meduoye, had visited Oke to introduce the new General Overseer-elect, Rev. Sam Aboyeji.
