The Southwest zonal office of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) yesterday upturned the suspension of the Chairman of the party in Ibadan North East Local Government of Oyo State, Taiwo Iyiola, over alleged anti-party activities.  It said the suspension of Iyiola by the State Working Committee (SWC) was arbitrarily without any preliminary hearing as demanded by the party’s constitution.  PDP spokesman in Oyo State Akeem Olatunji said on the phone that the Zonal Secretary, Daisi Akintan, who signed the letter reinstating the suspended chairman, lacked power to act without the consent of the Zonal Chairman, Dayo Ogunbenro. He said the purported letter was null and void.

Nigeria Will Boil - Niger Delta Youths Warn ๐Ÿ”Š Buhari Govt Over 'Plan' To Stop Amnesty

Ijaw Youth Council, IYC, has raised alarm over alleged plot by the Buhari government to stop the Niger Delta Amnesty Programme.

IYC president, Pereotubo Oweilaemi, in a statement sent to DAILY POST on Saturday, warned that Nigeria would boil if the programme is scrapped.

He noted that those behind the alleged plan were power players within the corridor of power at the presidency.

"The move, if materialised by the enemies of peace, will be viewed as ethnophobic propensity of the present Government against the Niger Delta people", it said.

"In case the plotters of the evil coup fail to know, the Amnesty Programme is a mutual agreement between the Federal Government of Nigeria and the Niger Delta people. The bargain is for the agitators to lay down their arms to accept the offer of Presidential Amnesty which has hitherto outlined terms and conditions to be complied with by both sides.
