The Southwest zonal office of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) yesterday upturned the suspension of the Chairman of the party in Ibadan North East Local Government of Oyo State, Taiwo Iyiola, over alleged anti-party activities.  It said the suspension of Iyiola by the State Working Committee (SWC) was arbitrarily without any preliminary hearing as demanded by the party’s constitution.  PDP spokesman in Oyo State Akeem Olatunji said on the phone that the Zonal Secretary, Daisi Akintan, who signed the letter reinstating the suspended chairman, lacked power to act without the consent of the Zonal Chairman, Dayo Ogunbenro. He said the purported letter was null and void.

Kyrgios On His ‘Detention’: ‘I’m Just On Probation, Relax’ ๐Ÿ˜

Nick Kyrgios has promised to be on his “best behaviour” over the next six months after receiving “detention” from the ATP for “aggravated behaviour”.

The controversial Australian was handed a suspended 16-week ban and an additional fine of $25,000 following several misdemeanours.

Kyrgios was initially fined $113,000 for unsportsmanlike conduct, ball abuse, leaving the court without permission and an audible obscenity following his exit from the Cincinnati Masters in August.

However, the 24-year-old didn’t take the punishment lying down as he accused the ATP Tour of being “pretty corrupt” only to later retract the comment.

After investigating the matter, the ATP decided to hand him a six-month suspended sentence.

Kyrgios has five days to appeal, but he commented about the issue on Instagram.

“Guess I’m on my best behaviour for 6 months,” he wrote and added the hashtag #detention.

In another post shared on his Instagram Story, he wrote: “Everyone, I can still play, I’m just on probation, relax."
