Southwest PDP Upturns Chairman’s Suspension In Oyo.

The Southwest zonal office of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) yesterday upturned the suspension of the Chairman of the party in Ibadan North East Local Government of Oyo State, Taiwo Iyiola, over alleged anti-party activities.  It said the suspension of Iyiola by the State Working Committee (SWC) was arbitrarily without any preliminary hearing as demanded by the party’s constitution.  PDP spokesman in Oyo State Akeem Olatunji said on the phone that the Zonal Secretary, Daisi Akintan, who signed the letter reinstating the suspended chairman, lacked power to act without the consent of the Zonal Chairman, Dayo Ogunbenro. He said the purported letter was null and void.

Son Red Card for Gomes Tackle Overturned by FA

Tottenham's Son Heung-min has seen his red card against Everton overturned, the FA confirmed on Tuesday.

The South Korea international was sent off on Sunday after tangling with Andre Gomes, who suffered a horrific fracture during the incident.

Son was visibly upset with his part in the injury and was subsequently handed a three-match ban for serious foul play.

Tottenham later appealed the decision, on the grounds that Son's challenge was not responsible for Gomes' fractured ankle.

And the FA has found in favour of the forward, rescinding the full extent of his suspension and removing the red card.

About 300,000 people are expected to leave Hong Kong for Britain using a new visa route which opens on Sunday.
